Senior Assistant Librarian
Dr. S. M. Imran is wroking as Sr. Assistant Librarian (S-III) in the Allama Iqbal Library, University of Kashmir, Srinagar (J & K), India. He is a Science Graduate and has pursued MLIS from the University of Kashmir and Qualified SET from UGC. He has been awarded Ph.D. from the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). He also holds diploma in Stenography and Computer Applications from DOEACC. He is reveiwer and Editorial Board Member of many National and International Journals. He has an administrative experience of more than 12 years and is associated with many professional bodies of international and national repute. He is the pioneer in procurement of e-journals, e-books, databases in the University of Kashmir, starting Automation of the departmental libraries, publishing the Allama Iqbal Library Newsletter and introducing Annual User Awareness Programme in the library. In the corporate life of the University, he is coordinator in the Directorate of Internal Quality Assurance Cell (DIQA), Nodal Officer of the library for DIQA and Governor's Grievance Cell. He has many National and International publications to his credit, 26 International and National Seminars, 10 Workshops, 45 Webinars, 08 Training Programmes and 2 Best Paper Awards to his credit. He has also been the organizing secretary of National Level Book exhibitions, Training courses. He has acted as coordinator/organizing secretary of events like Seminars, Workshops, Book Releases, and other important events held in Allama Iqbal Library from time to time. He has also delivered many lectures in different workshops, User Awareness Programmes, Training Courses, Refresher Courses and Orientation Programmes. Apart from these, he is a life member of Indian Library Association (ILA).
